FAME Fund is a subdivision within FAME that fixes our attention solely on the financial markets. We strive to provide our members with a starting point for further exploration in trading, asset management, research, quantitative developing, and risk management by bridging the material presented with practical applications via the structuring and management of our portfolio. This semester (Fall 2017) we will begin using StockTrak, a virtual trading software that privileges us with the ability to trade on over 50 global exchanges. Our portfolio will focus on the Americas and Europe, and will implement a multi-strategy approach, including but not limited to, hedged equity, global macro, and event driven strategies. We will occupy ourselves primarily within the financials, energy, materials, utilities, and real estate sectors. We will partner our equity holdings with various derivatives to effectively mitigate risk and to control unwanted exposures.
The group is open to Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Decision Sciences and other quantitatively driven majors holding at least a 3.3 GPA. Freshmen to Super Seniors are welcome. FAME Fund is catered to, and run by, students who have an interest in finance outside of the classroom, thus what we look for in potential members are qualities we feel we ourselves possess.
FAME Fund meetings will usually be held every Monday and Wednesday in Rosa Parks room F (This is on the ground floor of the Cesar Chavez building) from 3:00 - 4:30 PM. Should any room changes occur, we will notify you via email or text.
